From as far back as I can remember I have had an overwhelming urge to create things with my hands…from mud-pies to intricate pen & ink drawings. Current work is inspired by nature — from the micro to the macro — distilled by geometry (the only math class I ever enjoyed!).
Using various mediums allows me more ways to explore the ideas crowding around in my head. I began experimenting with polymer clay using leftover clay from an adult class I taught on “Creativity and the Spirit.” Creativity comes from the Spirit, and the series of Angels is a product of my spiritual quest. The Praying Angels remind us that when we are silent, inner peace and tranquility radiate outward into every area of our lives, allowing us to touch our own spiritual light and find our intuitive wisdom.
“Making the simple complicated is commonplace: making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity.”
— Charles Mingus
